What is your morning routine?

Peachtree Corners Events for the Week of April 3, 2022

The Best Way to Start Your Day

In the underground world of self-improvement addiction, morning routines are crack.

The gurus sell say that, to be successful, you have to start the day off right. Wake up at 3:00am. Meditate for an hour. Do ninety minutes of yoga. Write in your journal. Read said guru’s book. Exercise for two hours. Smoke some mantras and stare at a gratitude on your vision board. Put kale and grass-fed butter in your double espresso or something.

[Sorry about those last two sentences. I exceeded my sentence limit in that paragraph and had to cram in all the buzzwords.]

Everyone wants to know the morning routines of high achievers, successful artists, and the writer of the Peachtree Corners Weekly. They want to emulate their heroes so they can replicate their success.

So for those who asked (no one), I’m going to pull back the kimono. Here’s my morning routine:

  • Skip the snooze option on my alarm and go straight to “Dismiss” [Life hack alert: this buys an extra hour of sleep.]

  • Pour a lukewarm cup of coffee from the pot I programmed the night before to brew at my originally-scheduled alarm time

  • Play Wordle

  • Share my Wordle results ASAP if I get it in two or three attempts

  • Scroll through LinkedIn to see if anyone randomly offered me a job doubling my salary

So there you have it–the morning routine that will set you up for success!

And just to clarify: No, I’ve never eaten crack.

Peachtree Corners Events

Here’s what’s happening in and around Peachtree Corners. Check out the calendar for a full list of events.

Friday, April 1

Warning! Friday is April Fools’ Day. I had to Google it to see where the apostrophe goes. So, rather than waste a link, feel free to give it a click and read all about this holiday’s rich and impactful history. Be careful out there!

Friday’s music lineup:

And it’s last call for the triples tennis tournament at Jones Bridge Swim and Tennis. Check out the flier for more info.

Saturday, April 2

The April installment of Artisan’s Row is happening at The Forum. Buy handmade stuff from local hands and watch dance performances from local feet.

And if you feel like venturing out to the Big City, the Georgia Craft Brewers Festival is taking place at Atlantic Station.

Sunday – Friday

It’s spring break for many local counties, which means the calendar is pretty light. And hopefully so is traffic.

If you need something to do, choose from the usual assortment of beer-fueled trivia.

Saturday, April 9

Norcross is hosting a Neighborhood Cleanup and Recycling Day and traffic on I-85N hits critical mass coming back from the beach.

Do we have any pranksters in the house?

Despite my horrible attempts to make people laugh while staring at their phones, I’m not into physical comedy. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching Chris Farley sketches. But I don’t like being involved in them.

And the old “haha I told you this but it wasn’t really true haha APRIL FOOLS hahaha I got you” jokes just don’t do it for me.

So, if you’ve ever been involved in a next-level April Fools’ Day prank, hit "reply" and tell me about it. The best submission gets a shout-out in next week’s newsletter (first name only due to privacy and stuff).

Enjoy the weekend!
