Bruno Mars Lights Up the Corners
Well, kind of. I really just wanted to juice the title for SEO purposes. But there is a Bruno Mars tribute band coming. And so is the Light Up the Corners fun run. Plus a whole lot more in this week's issue!

Happy Friday from LifestylePTC! We’re the only local newsletter you can read in less time than it takes to pick which CD you want to listen to out of your Case Logic 100-disc carrying case.
Read time: less than 17 minutes.
Value: way less than the $1,600 worth of CDs in that case.
I took a couple of weeks off. You’re welcome!
But I’m back just in time to fill up your calendar now that summer vacations are winding down. Let’s get to it.
Featured Event(s)
I’m torn.
Do I feature the Light Up the Corners fun run or the Bruno Mars tribute band? It’s like trying to decide where we’re going to dinner. Every single time we decide to go out to dinner.
Oh. No it’s not. I can just feature both.
So, yeah. Light up the Corners takes over the 4-mile loop around The Forum and all the directional Jones Bridge Roads that I can’t keep straight. It’s a nighttime, glow-stick-and-neon-clothing fun run to raise money for the YMCA.
I’ll be throwing gelatin shots over the fence from our backyard. (I’m still waiting for permission to use the brand name.) So Register now!
Or go check out Uptown Funk across the street. The Bruno Mars tribute takes over the stage for Night Music at the Town Green.
Or do both. But you’ll probably need to average a five-minute mile.
Friday, August 4th
The New Royals take over the summer concert series at Thrasher Park
Cultivation Brewing has live music from Don Law Music. Apologies for the redundancy.
Saturday, August 5th
Flicks on the Green returns with Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. Not sure if it’s the O.G. version or the recent one with Johnny Depp. Which I just realized is from 2005. Which is not recent. And I feel old.
Johns Creek’s summer concert series at Newtown Park features Flannel Nation, a fitting name for a ‘90s alternative/grunge cover band. (Also, they’re really good.)
The Peachtree Three Trio is playing at Cultivation. More redundancy?
And Kettlerock has live music from Six Degree Tilt. More ‘90s covers if Johns Creek is too far.
Tuesday, August 8th
Yoga on the Green. Tuesday. Be there.
Wednesday, August 9th
Thursday, August 10th
Y’all. There is a Bob Ross paint class at Six Bridges Brewing. I’m not even kidding.
CrossFit on the Green. If I put a period at the end and we treat CrossFit as a verb and clarify that I’m speaking directly to you in the second person POV, that’s a complete sentence. And then that one may be a run-on.
Thursday Night Live returns to The Forum with East and Ward.
Friday, August 11th
Corners Fine Wine and Spirits is hosting a block party with Mich Ultra and 92.0 The Game. And it’s FREE. Well, the BBQ is, at least. Not sure about the really light beer.
Kettlerock has music from Len and Pete.
Cultivation Brewing features Phil Griffin and his Across Town Band.
Saturday, August 12th
Light Up the Corners and run the 4-mile loop.
Uptown Funk’s gonna give it to ya at the Town Green.
Downtown Duluth has a concert with A1A, the Jimmy Buffett tribute.
And Joel Keeley returns to Cultivation.
