Did you miss National Margarita Day?

Peachtree Corners Events for the Week of February 27, 2022

Art Markets, Social Media Holidays, and Missed Margaritas

Well that was a huge fail.

This past Tuesday was National Margarita Day. It landed perfectly on a day to celebrate sending the kids back to tax-funded daycare after winter break.

And I missed it.

Well, that’s not true. I had some $5 margs. I just didn’t find out about it until Tuesday afternoon and I didn’t want to change the newsletter to the PTC Bi-Weekly.

Also, more for me!

To right my wrong, here is a list of obscure social media holidays for the next week:

  • March 1st – Mardi Gras. Okay, this one isn’t obscure. It’s French for “Fat Tuesday” and it’s your last chance to go ham if you observe Lent. I recommend Chili’s. (I do NOT recommend pretending you’re still in college.)

  • March 2nd – National Read Across America Day. I think this is a Dr. Suess thing. Good luck with those tongue-twisters and completely made-up words if the fasting from Lent is kicking in.

  • March 4th – National Grammar Day. Seriously? And it falls on a Friday?! The stars have aligned for next Friday’s newsletter. Definitely spending more than ten minutes on that one.

  • March 4th – National Day of Unplugging. Wait, what? On the same day as National Grammar Day? Are they trying to pull the rug out from under me? I recommend avoiding this one at all costs. Also, “National Unplugging Day” is a cleaner way to say that. Losers.

So there you go. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure kind of week.

Let me know if anyone has $5 hand grenades and hurricanes on Tuesday.

  • U12 (Born 2010/2011) – Boys

Saturday, February 26th

Anderby Brewing is hosting an art market 12:00pm-6:00pm. And as far as I know they still sell beer. So you can’t lose.

Six Bridges Brewing’s big rager is called “Bowls and Beers.” I confirmed that these are, like, just regular old bowls. The kind you eat out of. But they’re cool-looking and hand-made. Which means my kids would immediately break them.

The Midweek Slump

Professional trivia question-asking must be a new college major. Because there’s a lot of them. Pick any weekday on the calendar and go spend $50 for your chance to win $10 in house cash.

Saturday, March 5th

It’s Georgia Beer Day! So of course all the local breweries are celebrating.

Six Bridges Brewing will have an art market, food, and beer. From the Earth Brewing will have live music from a band called the Banana Spliffs (subtle). And beer. Anderby Brewing will have live music from Edgewood Heavy. And also beer.

And all the other local breweries will be celebrating. I’m just tired of typing the word “beer.”

But before all the fun begins, make sure you earn your adult sodas at the Running for Energy Efficiency 5K. Proceeds benefit the Foundation of AEE Scholarship Program. Burned calories benefit your health. And Anderby’s cash register.

I just reread those last two sentences and realize it’s a bit of a leap. Give me some latitude.

Finally, the most important event of the weekend is not on the calendar. Saturday is the first round of ALTA mixed doubles playoffs. I’m currently completely defeated in my tennis playoff career.

For clarity, that’s the opposite of undefeated.

For further clarity, I plan to break that curse.

And if I’m being totally honest, I hope our first three lines win so I don’t even have to play and I can just celebrate.

Have a great weekend!
