Are you out of the office?
Peachtree Corners Events for the Week of July 10, 2022
Disco, Cat Protestors, and Out-of-Office Replies
Wow! What an overwhelming response! We received more replies to the most recent newsletter than any other issue in our short history.
Of course, they were all automated replies politely informing me that they were out of the office.
And they were BORING. Let’s spice things up a little.
I have some out-of-office ideas. Try one of these:
I’m currently away from the office with limited access to email. I will respond when I return to work. But, like, probably not ON that exact day. It’ll be closer to the end of next week, at best. And hopefully by then you figure out your issue isn’t really all that important or “urgent” and realize you don’t really need me anyway.
Heyoooooooh! I’m out on vacation. I’m at least 3 margaritas deep by now, so don’t try calling or texting me unless you want to hear my “tequila tongue!”
IIIIIIIIIIII’m sailiiiiiiiing away. Set an open courrrrrrse for the virrrrrrrgin sea. And no, you cannot come sail away with me. You’re one of the people I’m sailing away from.
If you’re a manager or team leader, you could also consider “auto-firing” someone. Please blind Cc me on that if you do.
Peachtree Corners Events
Here’s what’s happening in and around Peachtree Corners. Check out the calendar for a full list of events.
Friday, July 8
Duluth is hosting its thoughtfully-named event, Fridays N’ Duluth. It’s on Friday. In Duluth.
And Norcross is hosting its summer concert series at Thrasher Park, featuring Bee Gees Gold. If they’d come up with something more clever–like Night Fever or something–they may have even tricked me into going.
Saturday, July 9
Night Music returns to the Town Green, featuring Sailing to Denver with Trappers Cabin. Two bands, one link. I had to read the event info to learn that it wasn’t just one really long band name. True story.
Sunday – Thursday, July 10 – 14
Yadda yadda yadda (Gibberish for “trivia and free fitness classes”)
Friday, July 15
Anderby Brewing has live music from Over the Influence. They’re also all Over the Map, playing “a variety of tunes from the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s.” Well that narrows it down! (At least it eliminates disco-era Bee Gees.)
For something more defined, From the Earth Brewing is throwing their next outdoor concert with End of the Line: A Tribute to the Allman Brothers.
And see above regarding Fridays N’ Duluth.
Saturday, July 16
The Town Green is hosting Bark in the Park at 11:00 am. This event is organized by a radical coalition of local canines. In response, local feline advocacy group “Cats for a Cause” are planning a demonstration to highlight their exclusion. (I didn’t know what else to do with this one.)
And From the Earth Brewing is hosting another concert, this time featuring A1A – The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show. Unfortunately, it’s hard to poke fun at a band that’s officially endorsed by the original.
Last but not least, Wimbledon finals are this weekend. It’s the only viable excuse anyone should ever wear white on white clothing.
It’s also a terrible idea because 9:00 AM BLOODY MARYS!!
What could go wrong?
