Happy Fathers’ Day weekend to all the dads out there!

Friday, June 17

Local supergroup Ghost Town Rodeo takes the stage (floor) at Anderby Brewing from 6-9 pm. No opening act.

Or you can head north and check out Fridays-N-Duluth. I’m not sure if they mean Fridays IN Duluth or Fridays AND Duluth. I’ll guess the latter since Guns AND Roses.

Saturday, June 18

There’s a kids’ event at the Town Green. It’s aptly (and lazily) titled Kid Event. They have stuff for kids. 🙃

I assume that means I can just drop my 3 and 5-year old off there.

So while all the Peachtree Corners council members are running a free daycare, us adults can head to downtown Norcross for the Bluesberry Beer & Music Festival. This must be a big deal because the Braves’ World Series trophy will be there!

If the crowds are too much, Cultivation Brewing has an Ed Sheeran tribute from 5-8 pm. (Seriously? I’m guessing the “tribute” is older than the real thing.)

Don’t forget to pick up your kids.

Sunday, June 19

It’s Fathers’ Day. There’s still enough time to get him that Slinger Bag or new set of irons he’ll never have time to use! (It’s also not too late for the city council to host another one of those Kid Event thingies. Just make it a sleepover. 😉)

Monday – Thursday

Check out the calendar for lots of free workouts and trivia. Exercise your body and your brain.

Friday, June 24

Next Friday has several live music options:

• Two Star Hotel at Anderby Brewing (no idea what kind of music they play, but at least they aren’t setting ridiculous expectations)

• The PettyBreakers at Thrasher Park in Norcross (pretty good idea what kind of music they play)

• The Brothers Comatose at From the Earth Brewing (no idea on this one, either–hopefully they just love irony)

Saturday, June 25

It’s time for the next installment of the Summer Concert Series at the Town Green! On tap this month is Brotherhood – A Doobie Brothers Tribute Band. Bonus: You’re guaranteed to know more than two songs this month.!

And our friends from the next zip code over are hosting Viva Las Duluth from 6-9pm. A nod to Sin City, this festival will feature “ALL your favorite Vegas Strip performances including magicians, cirque-style dancers, and impersonators” [emphasis mine].

Not sure if this is family-friendly or not. My experience with “all your favorite Vegas Strip performances” would definitely not be a Kid Event. Good thing they capitalized “Strip.”

Finally, if ‘80s New Wave is your thing. INXS tribute band New Sensation is playing at From the Earth Brewing. (They actually could have gotten away with “NXS” without confusion.)
