Pumpkin Spice Garth Brooks? Why not!
For the Week of August 29, 2021
Welcome to another edition of PTC Weekly!
(Or biweekly? Semi-weekly? Randomly? Whatever you call it when you go on vacation for a week and then it takes two weeks to catch up on all the work that piled up while you were gone.)
You know what else happened while I took a mini break? Fall, apparently.
Pumpkin Spice Everything. Halloween decorations lining the aisles at Target. UGA football winning yet another preseason national championship.
And events. Lots of new events.
Let’s hit the highlights.
Peachtree Corners Events
Here’s what’s happening in and around Peachtree Corners. Check out the calendar for a full list of events.
Friday, August 27th
If you like that song George Clooney sings in “O Brother, Where Art Thou,” you can hear it live at the Red Clay Music Foundry in Duluth. Not from George Clooney (sorry), but from the guy who actually sang it. Dan Tyminski with G Phlatt takes the stage at 8:00pm.
Saturday, August 28th
You may want to get to the Town Green by 6:00am to get a spot for The Garth Brooks Tribute. Apparently the real Garth Brooks is the best-selling solo artist of all time at 157 million albums. I ran some quick calculations, statistical models, demographic surveys, online polls, carried the one, and determined that at least 87,000 people will be at the Town Green by 7:00pm on Saturday.
Someone may want to check my math.

Friday, September 3rd
And we have to skip forward an entire week for the next major event. Because school.
Downtown Norcross is hosting the last of its Summer Concert Series. Check out The Downtown Band at Thrasher Park at 7:30pm. It looks like you’ll be treated to a “mega-wedding” kind of show.
Or head over to From The Earth Brewing on Holcomb Bridge. Their outdoor concert series returns with Banks and Shane at 8:00pm. Good thing this isn’t the same night as The Garth Brooks Tribute because apparently these guys have a global following too. (Google could not tell me their total album sales to compare.)
Saturday, September 4th
Following the global sensation from Friday night, Drivin N Cryin performs on Saturday night at From The Earth Brewing. These local legends are still going strong!
But if you don’t want your kids to run up and down the church aisles singing “I’m going straight to Hell, just like my momma said!” on Sunday morning, then you may want to check out Flicks on the Green instead. Cars is showing on the big screen at 7:00pm.
Whew. I thought I was gonna be a little rusty. But that felt good.
Let’s do this again next week! Tell your friends.
Cheers!
