Week of January 16, 2022
Are you ready for a snow day?
For the Week of January 16, 2022
This Week in Peachtree Corners
Happy Friday!
That’s right. We’re trying something a little different by sliding into your inbox early Friday morning. That way we’re at the top of your screen and not buried beneath all the annoying marketing emails you didn’t know you signed up for when you were e-commercing last month.
Now let’s get to the meat (replacement) of this week’s story.
We wrapped up last week’s newsletter with a call to action: Ask us anything. And in true PTC Weekly fashion, the response was overwhelming!
Like, literally THE response. It’s singular. We got a grand total of one response.
Oh, well. No analysis paralysis to worry about.
One (again, literally) of our loyal readers asked: Who’s behind this newsletter?
Of course that was the question. Because it’s THE (singular) question we don’t want to answer!
Truth is, I’m just a small team of people who doesn’t like the spotlight. I’m an introvert who enjoys creating. We intentionally obfuscate the grammar in the newsletter by using “I” and “we” interchangeably. We make subtle references to Gossip Girl and talk about football. I reference my husbands and wives.
If that last paragraph was hard to read, just know it was even harder to write.
Okay. One bread crumb: Going forward, I’ll write everything in the first person singular. This is a solo operation.
Now onto this week’s events!
Peachtree Corners Events
Here’s what’s happening in and around Peachtree Corners. Check out the calendar for a full list of events.
Friday, January 14th
Head to Anderby Brewing where local band Ghost Town Rodeo takes the stage or the floor in the corner. And I have to issue a correction from last week’s newsletter: they do NOT play an aggressive blend of “death country.” They play classic rock favorites.
If anyone from Ghost Town Rodeo is reading this, one song request: please do NOT play “Sweet Home Alabama.” Okay two requests: please also avoid playing anything by Steve Miller Band.
If classic rock isn’t your thing–or if you absolutely have to hear “Sweet Home Alabama” even though it probably isn’t so sweet after last Monday night–you have another option. Hop over to Kettlerock Brewing to hear some jazz trumpet with Yuichi Arai at 6:30pm.
I know you’re already thinking it, so here you go:

Saturday, January 15th
Anderby Brewing keeps the party going with two more classic rock cover bands. There’s no cover charge. But, if you mention the PTC Weekly at the door, you get in free!
Sunday, January 16th
I HOPE YOU STOCKED UP ON MILK AND BREAD BECAUSE IT’S ANOTHER SNOW-POCALYPSE!
Sorry for the all caps. Also, why milk and bread? Give me a steak and a pint of The Tonight Dough.
Monday Through Thursday
Just like last week, there’s a whole bunch of indoor events involving answering random questions and spending $100 on drinks for a chance to win a $10 gift card. They’re all on the calendar.
Friday, January 21st
Head to the Red Clay Music Foundry in Duluth to see The Mad Hatters, a Tom Petty tribute band. I’m not sure how good they are, but they only have to play three chords for each song. Kinda hard to screw that up. Tickets are $25. But, wear your best (probably only) top hat and get free heat all night.
And finally, congratulations to all the Bulldog fans! (I can’t bring myself to misspell “dog.”) The strongest team throughout the regular season came through when it counted most.
And now that you’re primed and highly motivated, please join me permanently blacklisting “Sweet Home Alabama” from all cover band setlists. I’ll start the petition.
As always, thanks for reading!
Love,
B
