Who schedules snow days on holiday weekends?
For the Week of January 23, 2022
This Week in Peachtree Corners
Friends, Peachtree Cornerans, country people–lend me your ears.
Nope. Doesn’t work. Localized, 21st-century, politically-correct Shakespeare just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
Anyway, the first snow day of the year is in the books. There was just enough of it for the kids to find the steepest yard in the neighborhood and destroy it with cheap, plastic sleds. (There was also just enough of it for the adult kids to destroy the liquor cabinet.)
And who schedules a snow day for a Sunday when the next day is a holiday, by the way? That’s poor planning.
That’s also why this newsletter is going out late on Friday afternoon.
Let’s get to it so you can start your weekend!
Peachtree Corners Events
Here’s what’s happening in and around Peachtree Corners. Check out the calendar for a full list of events.
Friday, January 21st
If you like Tom Petty (R.I.P), The Mad Hatters are playing at Red Clay Music Foundry tonight. Top three Tom Petty songs:
“Refugee”
“You Got Lucky”
“It’s Good to be King”
Prove me wrong.
Monday Through Thursday
Copy and paste. Nothing but trivia on the calendar. Can’t wait until winter is OVER.
Friday, January 28th
The Red Clay Music Foundry is hosting an Allman Brothers tribute band, End of the Line. I would have gone with “Midnight Rider” or “Eat a Peach,” but they didn’t consult with me. Which was a smart decision because I’m obviously not a hardcore fan. I don’t know any songs from the ‘80s or ‘90s, which is when the song they took their name from came out. (I do know how to Google.)
Just play a 27-minute version of “Whipping Post,” please.
Saturday, January 29th
The Norcross Cultural Arts & Community center is hosting Garden Talk at 10:00am. Well, that’s one way to kick off your weekend. Go listen to someone talk about growing vegetables. Take notes for me. Better yet, livestream it. Space is limited.
Seriously, will someone plan an event? This is getting ridiculous.
If next week’s calendar looks like this, I’m going to have to write a longer intro to take up space. Things may get weird. Warning you now.
Until next week. Stay warm!
