Week of January 9, 2022
Do you like music and trivia?
For the Week of January 9, 2022
This Week in Peachtree Corners
Happy new year, PTC!
Before we get into the sparsely-populated winter calendar, let’s address the elephant in the inbox: No, I did not resolve to send a newsletter every single week in 2022.
Would I like to? Yes. Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? Well, just look at the historical trends. That data doesn’t lie.
As the great 20th century philosopher Sir Gin Blossom famously said:
If you don’t expect too much from me, you might not be let down.
(If you’re too young or not “rock and roll,” take a break and caress your eardrums for four minutes.)
All that said, I do like to take stock of my life and set some non-SMART goals every new year. Here’s what I came up with (just now–one week late) for 2022:
Run (some) witty responses by my wife before responding to large group text chains to ensure I’m not “triggering” anyone or possibly inciting a riot
Stop interrupting and let people finish talking (even if they are obviously wrong)
That’s it, I guess. Short and sweet.
Or I guess I could have just said, “Be kind(er).”
But like I said earlier, the winter calendar is looking bleak. I need enough words to fill at least one screen so this newsletter doesn’t look puny.
Let’s go!

Peachtree Corners Events
Here’s what’s happening in and around Peachtree Corners. Check out the calendar for a full list of events.
Friday, January 7th
Norcross is hosting its First Friday Concert at the Norcross Civic Center from 7-9:00pm. I’m glad I double-checked before posting. I assumed this was outdoors like the previous concerts. Then I saw the band’s genre was soul, R&B, and…beach music? Mkay.
And Kettlerock Brewing finally created an “events” page on their website. So now I know (and now YOU know) they have live music as well. Zack Zoeller is playing from 6:30-9:30pm. Apparently he plays rock and Americana, which seems like an appropriate combination.
Monday Through Thursday
Just a bunch of trivia. It’s on the calendar.
Friday, January 14th
Anderby Brewing has live music by local band Ghost Town Rodeo. There’s no genre description. But, based on their name and photo, my guess is they play “death country.”
Saturday, January 15th
Someone named “Phil” at Anderby Brewing is turning 50. So they’re throwing a party with TWO bands with undefined genres! All I can tell from the photo is that one of the bands definitely covers AC/DC. Happy birthday, Phil!
And that’s a wrap on the PTC Weekly, Volume II, Episode 1.
One of the hardest parts of this extremely demanding, pro bono side hustle is coming up with intro content. I don’t want to just send a list of events. I like to warm up your tickle muscle first to make reading about seventeen consecutive trivia nights more palatable.
So give me some fodder. Got any random questions? Ask me anything. Any crazy local stories you want my unfiltered take on? Tell me about them. Just reply to this email or use the contact form on the website.
